Every year in the 2nd Quarter issue, Corporate Board Member releases its annual list of the best corporate law firms in America. This list identifies the top 20 firms nationally and the top local firm in 25 major U.S. cities, as selected by the directors and general counsel of publicly traded companies listed on NYSE Euronext, NASDAQ OMX, and NYSE Amex stock exchanges. In addition to saluting the top corporate law firms across America, we highlight active General Counsel who have made significant strides in helping their boards and companies succeed.
Along with this special coverage in the magazine, each featured General Counsel along with the top 20 law firms were honored at our second annual Legal Recognition Dinner held Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City. At the dinner, the magazine recognized the featured General Counsel, presented a lifetime recognition award to former EVP and general counsel of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, John L McGoldrick, and saluted the top 20 law firms as identified in the annual survey.
The second Annual Legal Recognition Dinner benefitted Lawyers for Children America, which provides pro bono legal services to children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect.
