OVERVIEW
Learn critical oversight strategies and board leadership skills from key faculty from Stanford Business School, Stanford Law School, University of Chicago GSB and Tuck School of Business. This ISS-accredited program provides frameworks, strategies, and best practices for structuring decisions in the key policy areas that directors face. The program is comprehensive, and draws on the research and practical knowledge of faculty from three world-class universities and leading experts in governance practice. Participants will learn about board structure and processes, strategy, financial policy, financial reporting, compensation, fiduciary duties, litigation risk, CEO performance evaluation, and succession. This unique, three-day program is intimate in size, fostering interactions between participants, with faculty, and with leading governance practitioners. Directors will develop a deeper understanding of business and governance to apply to the issues facing their boards. Optional Finance Day: Financial Accounting Foundations February 24, 2009
An optional full-day session at the beginning of the program provides an excellent foundation in finance and accounting basics for those with limited financial backgrounds or for those who would like a concentrated refresher from a board-level perspective. Those who are unfamiliar with basic accounting principles, such as the relationships among the balance sheet, the income statement, and the statement of cash flows, should consider attending the optional finance and accounting basics day. The optional Finance Day offered February 24, 2009 will begin at 8:30 am and end at 5:00p.m. There is an additional charge for this session.
