What Makes a Great Board
A Forum for Nominating/Governance Committee Members
Corporate Board Member
magazine and the nationally recognized executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles held this one-day event specifically designed for nominating/governance committee members on the boards of public companies to interact and exchange valuable information with their peers.
The forum brought together committee chairs and members from some of the country's most well known companies. The event included thought-provoking general sessions on several key issues that all nominating/governance committee members face in their quest for a "good governance" board culture: succession planning for CEOs and senior management, board evaluations, board recruitment, and board compensation.
In addition, the day's activities featured unique Peer Collaboration sessions, in which participants were split into groups of nominating/governance committee members from similarly sized companies. These small group Peer Collaborations provided a unique opportunity for in-depth discussion of critical issues and problem-solving solutions for their boards(s).
